Equatorial Ho Chi Minh City has unveiled the Lobby Memory Wall, a permanent installation created to celebrate the hotel’s 30th anniversary. Located beside the grand staircase in the main lobby, the display opens a year of anniversary celebrations while recognising the guests, partners, leaders and associates who have contributed to the hotel’s journey since 1996.
Since opening its doors three decades ago, Equatorial Ho Chi Minh City has become a familiar address for business travellers, international visitors and local residents alike. The hotel has hosted diplomatic gatherings, corporate events, weddings and family celebrations, evolving alongside one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-changing cities. Throughout that journey, its identity has been shaped as much by people and relationships as by the property itself.
The Lobby Memory Wall reflects that history through a carefully curated collection of photographs, archival materials and milestone moments. Inspired by the narrative approach of leading museums and galleries, the installation traces the hotel’s evolution over thirty years while offering visitors a rare glimpse into the people and stories behind the brand.
Creating the exhibition required more than three months of planning and collaboration. Nearly twenty associates from different departments reviewed thousands of photographs, historical records and personal recollections before selecting eighty stories that best represent the hotel’s heritage. Every detail, from editorial curation to the choice of materials and display design, was considered with the same attention to detail that has long defined the Equatorial experience.
Following months of preparation, the installation was completed during a continuous four-hour build, transforming a central space within the lobby into a gallery of shared memories. Guests are encouraged to pause, explore the collection and discover the moments that have shaped the hotel over three decades.
The photographs capture milestones both large and small. Some document landmark occasions in the hotel’s history, while others celebrate the people whose dedication has defined the guest experience across generations. Together, they tell a story of genuine hospitality, enduring partnerships and a commitment to service that has remained constant since the hotel first welcomed guests in 1996.
The Lobby Memory Wall also serves as an expression of gratitude.
